Update 16.12. 2015 – Current Samsung drivers should work fine with windows 10, so go to Samsung‘s website and downoad
Network connected Samsung CLX-318x Color Multifunction Laser Printers are not found by default by Windows 10. I downloaded universal Samsung printer driver in July and it did the job for printer but there was no sign of scanner. As it was not important at this point i left it as is.
Now i found that Samsung has new scanner drivers available – Aug 5, 2015 – Universal Scan Driver (Driver) ver.V1.02.19 – Win XP/2003/2008/2012/Vista/Win 7/Win 8/Win 8.1/Win 10(32,64bit) (MULTI LANGUAGE, 22.49 MB)
I downloaded drivers application executed, selected and it seemed to “do something” but in scanner application there was no sign on of device.
Next i executed it again but this time selected Extract option. Tried to execute Setup.exe but it resulted on error
After searching around the simplest and safest soultion I found is
1) Exectutre command prompt (cmd.exe) As Administrator
2) Navigate to location of Setup.exe
3) Run it
Now the setup runs fine.
In Windows Scan And Fax device is available now.
If preview gives error that scanner is not available then click on Change button next to Scanner name.
Select scanner and click on Properites buttton.
Select Scanner tab and click on Change button.
Click on Add button.
Now you can try Automatic Search or if you enter/search IP address.
Finally select found device and add it. Now it should be functional.
PS. Samsung scanner actually does not need thirdparty drivers. If you know it’s IP address then Windows 10 can install drivers just fine.
Go for “The printer isn’t listed”
Next choos TCP/IP printer
Enter IP address of YOUR PRINTER.
After installation printer should be available in Printers section.
